Correspondence Tests/Proctoring Services

Correspondence Tests/Proctoring Services: This service is offered to individuals who need to be supervised by a proctor during a test session. You must contact the University Testing Center in advance to make an appointment in person or by telephone at (713) 313-6838.

What is a proctoring service?

A Proctoring Service is a service offered to individuals who may need to take a testmonitored by a designated testing proctor during the test session. Our Testing Administration is here to help you and can walk you through any part of the proctoring process. We encourage individuals, faculty and staff members to contact our office with questions or concerns on how to schedule an upcoming proctoring service. The proctoring exams can either be paper-based or computer-based testing.

How it works

Step1

Instructor Approval: If you are a student at the university, the first and most important step is to verify proctoring with your instructor to ensure that you have permission to use proctoring services for your exams. Not all courses allow or require proctoring.

Supervisor/Management/Organization Approval: Before taking the exam, verify with your supervisor/manager if your results will be accepted and approved before scheduling and paying for your exam.

Step2

Schedule Appointment: Contact the University Testing Center to schedule an appointment (date and time) for your proctoring service.

Step4

Review your proctoring confirmation email: After you have contacted the University Testing Center and scheduled your appointment, you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive the email immediately or by the end of the business day. It is important to review your confirmation email in its entirety. It will contain exam details, parking information, and instructions for test day. Please make sure to make the necessary exam preparations before your scheduled appointment. Please contact the University Testing Center if you need to reschedule your appointment.

Step5

After the exam: Once you have completed your exam we will take care of the rest. If you are taking an Instructor Approved exam, we will return your exam to the instructor within two business days after the close of the exam. We will notify you via email. If you are taking an Externally Approved exam, you will receive your results immediately following the close of the exam.
